Background

My passion for art began in high school where I discovered a natural ability to excel in this area but I didn't begin my art journey until 2006 and haven’t looked back.

Growing up and currently living on the land, I’ve always been surrounded by nature, and this is where I developed a close emotional connection to the natural world. I intuitively capture the contrasting colour, texture, and form using a combination of  impressionism, expressionism, and realism  through painting, drawing, sculpture, eco dyeing, and installations.

During my art journey, I found inspiration through new techniques and many artists like Arthur Streeton, Lyn Diefenbach, Albert Namatjira, Andy Goldsworthy, and Shona Wilson just to name a few.

While creating my art pieces I am transported into another realm, called the 'zone', which is meditative and therapeutic, and where I am transported away from the madness of our modern society into the artwork that I am creating.

In 2013, I felt the need to explore and learn more about art, so I embarked into formal education by starting Certificate III & VI in Visual Art at Gympie TAFE followed by the Diploma of Visual Art at Nambour TAFE in 2015, A  Bachelor of Visual Art with The University of Canberra at Nambour TAFE in 2017 to 2019, and in 2020, undertaking a Bachelor of Art and Design (Honours) degree with the University of Canberra at Southbank TAFE Campus.

While doing my Bachelor of Visual Art, my eyes were opened to contemporary art which allowed me to express my art in ways that I previously hadn't been able to.  During my honours degree I researched further into Ephemeral Art combined with environmental issues.
